Vavala, ARNG (Ret), a veterans advocacy specialist for Delaware Tech, has been appointed by President Joe Biden to the board of governors of United Service Organizations (USO) Inc., a non-profit, charitable corporation that provides live entertainment to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

Annual Run, White & Blue Event Draws 340 Participants to Support Veteran and First Responder ScholarshipsThe rainy weather stopped and wet pavement cleared up just in time for 340 participants to compete in the eighth annual Run, White & Blue 5k/1-mile Walk, held at the Owens Campus in Georgetown on Sept. 9.

College Community Participates in Annual Coastal CleanupDelaware Technical Community College participated in the 24th Coastal Cleanup in New Castle County and in Sussex County on Sept. 11. Delaware Tech volunteers cleaned up areas at Augustine Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park. Participation was coordinated by Student Life.

Delaware Technical Community College to Host Virtual Commencement for Class of 2021 on June 5Delaware Technical Community College will host its 53rd annual commencement ceremonies on Saturday, June 5, 2021 beginning at 10 a.m. in a virtual format. Each campus ceremony has been divided into two, for a total of eight ceremonies collegewide, to keep them under an hour in length each.
